This holiday weekend, there’s plenty to do around Southern Delaware, including parades, picnics and, of course, fireworks on the beach! Enjoy some of these fun events and have a happy 4th of July!
Rehoboth Beach Fireworks
July 3 at approx. 9:15pm
Fireworks will be launched from the beach and visible up and down the boardwalk and shoreline. More info.
Lewes’ Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration
July 4 from 9am-6pm
The day begins with old-fashioned games for children on Second Street beginning at 9 am, followed by the Lewes Independence Day Boat Parade winding down the Lewes – Rehoboth canal from the Roosevelt Inlet to Fisherman’s Wharf. Later in the afternoon, the Doo-Dah Parade will begin around 5pm on its regular route toward town on Kings Highway, Savannah Road and then onto Second Street. More info.
Milton’s Hometown July 4th Picnic in the Park
July 4 from 10am-3pm
Festivities include a dunk tank, a pie baking contest, train rides, relay and sack races, chess matches and free games and activities for children, as well as a bike decorating contest and bike parade at 11:00 a.m. with grand prizes of two brand new bikes. Bring a picnic or feast on food from several local vendors. More info.
Bethany Beach 4th of July Parade & Celebration
July 4 from 12pm-9pm
Bethany Beach’s 33rd Annual Independence Day Celebration will kick off with a parade beginning at noon at the intersection of Pennsylvania and Garfield Parkway and take its traditional 2-mile route through town. The horseshoe-throwing contest occurs at 2pm at the southwest corner of the Christian Church grounds, and the parade award ceremony will take place on the bandstand at 7:15 p.m. The day is complete with fireworks at dusk. Ocean City July 4th Concert & Fireworks on the Beach
July 4 at 8pm
Enjoy a free concert at 8pm, followed by fireworks at 9:30 in two different locations: on the beach at N. Division Street and Northside Park on 125th Street. More info.
