Although Southern Delaware is fortunate enough to enjoy a temperate climate, we’re preparing our Insight homeowners for what the season brings. With possible chances of snow from late December to early March, we’ve collected helpful resources for our residents to refer to throughout the season. Give these helpful tips a try when planning for the next snow day in your Insight home!
When preparing for a winter storm the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) suggests stocking up on enough non-perishable food and water to last at least three days, and monitor local news for emergency information and alerts. It’s also important to have an emergency supply kit with flashlights, batteries(backups), a first aid kit, toiletries, and garbage bags. Check out Delaware Emergency Management Agency (DEMA) suggested items to include in your own emergency kit here. No need to rush to the store to check everything off your list. You can build your supplies over time by adding a few items each week or month.
