Water Water Everywhere

Summer is almost winding down! If you haven’t used any vacation days, now is the time to do it and get out to savor the last bits of summer. You may regret it in the winter when summer activities are no longer possible, if you don’t. Here are some great water activities at places that are near Insight Homes or can be done right in the comfort of your own backyard as you soak up the sun.

Day Trips:

Sometimes it’s nice to go out for the day and make a splash with your friends and family.Cape Henlopen State Parkis a fantastic spot for all of your water activities. Whether it’s fishing, kayaking, surfing, swimming, etc. You can even rent boats and kayaks! There’s also a wonderful fishing pier. If Cape Henlopen is your regular place for water activities and you are looking to switch it up, check outDelaware Seashore State ParkorPrime Hook. These have similar amenities and Delaware Seashore State Park is approximately thirty minutes south of Cape Henlopen, whereas Prime Hook is thirty minutes north of Cape Henlopen. At Delaware Seashore, along with the beach, there’s a great marina and boat launch and even a stand to grab a snack when your water activities give you an appetite. This particular spot is fairly close to ourSunset HarborandBishop’s Landingcommunities. Going a little more north, near ourSandstonecommunity, is Prime Hook, which is a great place for birdwatching in between your water activities and slightly more secluded. So take your pick and pack up the car, and hop in the water!
At Home:

Whether you are a kid or an adult, a good ole fashioned water fight in the backyard is always fun. Some tools to have in your artillery arewater guns, buckets, water balloons, and our personal favorite: the hose. This is a great way to stay cool and spend time with your friends and family without going too far from your Insight home.

Remember to wear sunscreen and have fun with these water activities. Don’t let summer pass you by without enjoying all the activities you can do in the heat that you can’t do in the snow.
