Insight Homes made building a new house pretty easy. We lived in San Francisco made our first trip to Delaware in November 2024. Our new home adventure started with Rob H. at Anchors Run and we talked with him with all different developments in the state. In one fast weekend, we decided on Insight, found our future lot, and prequalified for a mortgage. Knowing that we wanted a change, we decided to move forward to build on the East Coast. Living on the West Coast, Insight was accommodating with us traveling back and forth for the required site visits/inspections.
We had our Fixture and Finishes Selection Appointment in January 2025. We met with Nikki, and we came prepared to discuss what we wanted to see in our new home. We looked at various websites, clipped examples of tile and décor, and placement of additional electrical plugs. Nikki was able to assist us with our design and help match us with what was available at Insight's Design Center.
After a month and a half, the house went through the permitting process and construction started in March 2025. On May 2, 2025, we had our pre-drywall inspection and met with James. We went through the house, room by room, making sure what we specified were included. James took pictures of the progress of the house and e-mailed it to us on a regular basis. On July 21, 2025, we had the pre-settlement inspection to look for any issues that needed to be addressed before the settlement date on Friday, July 25, 2025. We walked into our new home and everything we envisioned came to fruition!
