Building New Homes In Delaware

Insight Homes made building a new house pretty easy. We lived in San Francisco made our first trip to Delaware in November 2024. Our new home adventure started with Rob H. at Anchors Run and we talked with him with all different developments in the state. In one fast weekend, we decided on Insight, found our future lot, and prequalified for a mortgage. Knowing that we wanted a change, we decided to move forward to build on the East Coast. Living on the West Coast, Insight was accommodating with us traveling back and forth for the required site visits/inspections.

We had our Fixture and Finishes Selection Appointment in January 2025. We met with Nikki, and we came prepared to discuss what we wanted to see in our new home. We looked at various websites, clipped examples of tile and décor, and placement of additional electrical plugs. Nikki was able to assist us with our design and help match us with what was available at Insight's Design Center.

After a month and a half, the house went through the permitting process and construction started in March 2025. On May 2, 2025, we had our pre-drywall inspection and met with James. We went through the house, room by room, making sure what we specified were included. James took pictures of the progress of the house and e-mailed it to us on a regular basis. On July 21, 2025, we had the pre-settlement inspection to look for any issues that needed to be addressed before the settlement date on Friday, July 25, 2025. We walked into our new home and everything we envisioned came to fruition!

We appreciated Nikki, Ann, Krystle, and the Insight Team for keeping us in the loop on construction progress, bringing up any issue, and following up after settlement. Thank you, Insight Homes, for building our high-quality forever home!

Robert (sales) took the time to ask questions on what we were looking for and at what price point. He was knowledgeable on the different options that we were looking for and made suggestions on what changes could be made. Nikki (customer care) was very helpful in matching different styles and colors that made the house 'ours'. Nikki is very knowledgeable and was great to work with. Jose (construction manager) was thorough on the pre-drywall walk through and explained all the mechanics of the house in detail. He was able to answer all my questions and pointed out many updates to the construction of the house that improved the quality of the construction.

"What was the biggest reason you bought an Insight Home over your second choice?" The construction and materials of the house were superior than what I saw at Ryan. Insight's homes are well built and fuel efficient.

Everyone has been great, but Cindy McAuliffe, Nikki Little, and Brennan (site manager) have been fantastic to deal with. Thank you all.

We love our new Insight home, I guess all good things take time and it was worth the wait. From start to finish the house was completed in 105 days. Weather slowed it down. But there are two solid employees that I would like to especially thank, Ann Cummings and Doug Sylvester. They kept up and put up with me. (I'm a perfectionist) What a great job they did for us. They always had the answers for all of my questions and got the job done right. As far as the house, it's built solidly like old world craftsmanship. Solid, quiet and comfortable and for a price well below the competition. Also the neighborhood here at Cedar Ridge is a delight, a county mix with convenience for shopping. Not to mention, the close-but not too close, great beaches of Delaware. They are only 25-35 minutes away. Wow, we feel like we have it all.
